13th Annual Messiah Sing at Knowlton Presbyterian Church

Arts and Entertainment

October 11, 2023

From: Knowlton Presbyterian Church

Knowlton Presbyterian Church will host its thirteenth annual Community Messiah Sing!.

Chorus members from the community will be welcomed by Maestro Eugene Sirotkine (former MET Opera Chorus Conductor) with string quartet, and harpsichord. There is a rehearsal at 2pm and concert at 4pm.

Handel’s Messiah has been a standard by which much Christmas Music has been measured. It is perhaps the most famous and frequently sung Oratorio of the season. Consequently, many people love to sing it or hear it whenever possible, even in non-formal settings. Knowlton’s Messiah Sing! invites all who are interested in singing or listening to attend. If you are a singer and have a score, please bring it. If you do not have a score, there will be some extras provided for your use. The entire work will not be sung, but Part 1 and the Hallelujah Chorus. The average attendance has been seventy-five singers in past years. Our soloists this year hail from Lincoln Center, Penn State, Opera Project NJ, and Water Gap Singers, and Hudson Valley Chamber Singers!

Come join us for this celebration!
