New Development Code to implement comprehensive plan

The Board passed Resolution R-22-117, awarding a contract to Camiros, Ltd. to produce a Development Code (HSC Title 16) that implements the adopted comprehensive plan, Forward Hot Springs 2040, and the City’s other recent planning documents. The scope of the services provided by Camiros will be in two phases, with Phase 1 involving production of a Code Assessment Report. In this phase, Camiros will host a kick-off meeting with City staff, produce a custom logo and website that will provide project updates, review the existing code and plans and a host a series of stakeholder interviews. The report will then be reviewed with a citizen’s Development Code Committee. After any revisions are made, the final report will be presented to the Board and/or the Planning Commission and released to the public. Phase 2 will be preparation of the final Development Code for adoption. After review by staff and the Development Code Committee, the public will have three engagement opportunities with the first draft, including an open house. There will be public hearings for the presentation of the second draft. There will also be a Zoning Map Analysis completed. The project will conclude with the production of a Code Manual and training for staff and/or boards and commissions.
