Uses various hand held tools and mechanized hand held equipment (chainsaw, pole saw, leaf blower, etc.). Capable of proper pruning techniques and operating equipment in the class of Equipment Operator 3, operation and maintenance of various urban forestry equipment related to the maintenance and construction of various Urban Forestry and Street Division duties, projects and activities; inspects equipment and makes minor adjustments or refers to Fleet Service for servicing; rotates among various pieces of equipment as required; performs unskilled and skilled labor tasks during slack or seasonal periods or as required by workload; performs related work as required (concrete work, asphalt work, etc.).

This position required a Class B CDL. If the applicant doesn't have a CDL they will start at a Pay Grade 7 ($14.11) until they obtain it.

Qualifications

Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent; at least three years experience in the operation of urban forestry and maintenance equipment preferred or any equivalent combination of education and experience; must possess a valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License with a clean driving record or be able to obtain a Class B Commercial Driver’s License within 6 months of hire.
