History of First Judicial District CASA Association

CASA was started in 1977 in Seattle, Washington by Judge David Soukup. He had to make a decision to take a child out of her home and there was no one there who could speak up for that child. He requested support from the community and received an overwhelming amount of support.  

First Judicial District CASA Association began in 1994 in Leavenworth, Kansas providing services to Leavenworth and Atchison Counties.

Over the years, First Judicial District CASA Association has provided training and support for many volunteer advocates who have served hundreds of children!  All of which wouldn’t be possible without the incredible support received from our amazing Leavenworth & Atchison County Communities!
