February At Guilford Smith Memorial Library

Schools and Libraries

February 2, 2023

What's happening at GSML this month?

- February 4 is Take Your Child to the Library Day and we are hosting an exciting live animal program with Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center! Critter Camouflage is at 11am followed by drop-in STEM activities from 12-2pm.

- We are excited to announce that we have recently been awarded 2 grants: $500 from ALDI and $1000 from the Leo J. & Rose Pageau Trust. The funds will be used to support our annual Summer Reading Program, with this year's theme being Find Your Voice.

- While it seems like spring is months away, we're thinking about all things green and sunny. This spring we are hoping to build a community garden, including a sensory garden for children, in our backyard. We are seeking volunteers to assist with the construction of the garden as well as with its maintenance (i.e. planting, watering, weeding). If you're interested, please send Aubrey an email at [email protected].

- Our Annual Meeting is Thursday, February 16 at 7pm with a snow date of February 23. The public is welcome to attend.
