A reminder that while JCPRD’s 50 Plus programs are primarily for people who are age 50 or older, interested parties who have not yet reached that magic age may still be able to attend. Persons 18 and older who are interested in a 50 Plus class are invited to call the 50 Plus Department at 913-826-2975 for space availability.

Jan. 22 - Homeschool Theatre Academy: Dear Edwina Jr! (Ages 8-17)

Jan. 22 - Music: Mini Music Makers - Spring Session 1 (Ages 18 months - 3 years)

This class is designed to provide your little ones with a fun and engaging introduction to music. We’ll explore different instruments, sing songs, and dance to music from around the world. Bring your infant or toddler to a special art class made just for the littlest artists! We'll explore different materials, selected to let your little artist explore and have a fun sensory experience. Jan. 23, 26  (2 separate programs) - Dance: Pre-Jazz/Tap - Spring Session 1  (Ages 2-5)

Your little one will explore the fundamentals of both jazz and tap dance in a fun and supportive environment. Throughout the class, your child will have the opportunity to develop their rhythm, musicality, and self-expression through movement. They will also learn important dance etiquette, such as respecting their peers and instructors, and taking turns. At the end of the class, students will have the chance to showcase their new skills in a short performance for their parents and guardians. Your child will have the opportunity to express themselves through movement, working on their rhythm, musicality, and self-expression while exploring two exciting dance styles. They’ll also get to develop their performance skills, including stage presence and character development. Throughout this class, we’ll encourage creativity and fun, making sure every student feels supported and engaged. Whether you child is new to dance or has some experience, this class is perfect for anyone looking to learn both jazz and tap. Jan. 25 - Music: Showstopper Sprouts - Spring Session 1 (Ages 5-8)

In this fun and interactive class, your child will learn the basics of music theater performance through singing, dancing, and acting. Throughout this class, your child will have the opportunity to work on a solo and group performances, as well as participate in fun theatre games and exercises.
