Nov. 14 - Feb. 28 - Animals: Holidays for the Animals (All Ages)

Ernie Miller Nature Center, 909 N. Kansas 7 Highway, Olathe, during regular hours (Monday - Saturday 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Sunday 1-4:30 p.m.) We appreciate your contribution!

The holidays are a time of gifts and generosity. Whether you’re an individual, family, or a group looking to make a difference, how about contributing a gift to the animals at the Ernie Miller Nature Center? The nature center has ongoing needs for supplies for both the animals we keep at the center and the wild animals that come to our feeders. Nov. 14 - Code Ninjas: Next Level Roblox® Development (Ages 9-14)

Meadowbrook Park Clubhouse, 9101 Nall Ave., Prairie Village, Mondays, 7:15 to 8:45 p.m., 6 sessions, $60 per person, $66 nonresidents 

Spark your imagination and explore game concepts by digging deeper into the game making side of Roblox®, including writing scripts in the Lua - the programming language of Roblox. Activity number 23677.

Nov. 14 - Code Ninjas: Movie Making in Minecraft® (Ages 7-10)

Meadowbrook Park Clubhouse, 9101 Nall Ave., Prairie Village, Mondays, 5:30 to 7 p.m., 6 sessions, $150 per person, $165 nonresidents 

Attention all Minecraft® creators! Take your Creative Mode skills to a new level as you shift your imagination into high gear. Learn how to build epic scenes, tell stories, and record videos in your own Minecraft® world. Activity number 23672.

Nov. 15 - Cards: Bridge Workshops - Take Out Doubles (Ages 50 & Older)

Matt Ross Community Center, 8101 Marty St., Overland Park, 4 to 5:30 p.m., $10 per person, $11 nonresidents

Become an in-demand partner with these bridge workshops. Fun and easy classes help you master a new subject each week. Purchase each workshop individually or take them all! Nov. 16 - Special Event: Friendsgiving (Ages 50 & Older)

Meadowbrook Park Clubhouse, 9101 Nall Ave., Prairie Village, 1:30 to 3 p.m., $15 per person, $16 nonresidents 

Gather with us to express our gratitude, love, and well wishes for our friends around us. Food, games and great conversation! Stretchy clothes a must! Activity number 23129.

Nov. 16 - Holiday Tree Lighting event (All Ages)

John Barkley Plaza in Shawnee Mission Park, 7900 Renner Road, Shawnee and Lenexa, 6 p.m., FREE

Join us for live music and light refreshments as we continue our new tradition of flipping the switch on our holiday flagpole light display.

Nov. 16 - Astronomy: Starlight Hayride (All Ages)

Oak Ridge Parklands in Shawnee Mission Park, 7460 Ogg Road, Shawnee, 6 to 8 p.m., $12 per person, $13 nonresidents

Join us for a late fall hayride and learn about the stars and their ancient stories. This two-hour program includes a hay wagon ride to your viewing location and back for a campfire with cider and marshmallows. We will be learning about the constellations of the evening and the stories that go with them. Dress for the weather. Advanced registration required. Program will proceed even with overcast skies. Every person attending must register and pay, including adults. Activity number 23385.

Nov. 18 - Art: Homeschool Mini Ornaments (Ages 6-17)

Johnson County Arts & Heritage Center, 8788 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, 1 to 3 p.m., $30 per child, $33 nonresidents

Make a series of mini ceramics ornaments for the holidays while exploring different ceramics tools and techniques. Ornaments will be fired in the kiln and ready for pickup around two weeks after the class date. Activity number 22976.

Nov. 18 - Dance: Swing Dance Night! (Ages 16 & Older)

Grab a partner or a friend or come by yourself to dance the night away and learn beginner friendly east

coast swing dance techniques. Activity number 24118.

Nov. 19 - Art: 90's Night! (Ages 16 & Older)

Johnson County Arts & Heritage Center, 8788 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, 6 to 9 p.m., drop in for $25 per person

Come dressed for fun in your neon and join us for this totally awesome night of 90s nostalgia through art and dance. Add some bling to your DIY snap bracelet, learn some dance moves while listening to some 90s Hip Hop, and chillax while you eat some nostalgic snacks, braid friendship bracelets, and make fortune tellers will ALL the colors of gel pens. This night will be all that and a bag of chips! Activity number 23741.
