THE DAUGHTER SHIP:AUTHOR TALK WITH BOO TRUNDLE

A headlong human comedy of trauma and triumph, narrated by the concealed inner selves of a lost creative soul and suburban mother of two, who has struggled into her forties with the urge to self-harm.

Maplewoodian Boo Trundle is a writer, artist, and performer. This is her first novel. Copies of the book will be available for sale and signing.

CHINESE INK PAINTING FOR ADULTS

Learn how to turn a few simple brush strokes into a vivid floral painting. In this relaxing workshop, you will become the master of ink, water and line, to create a botanical world. No artistic experience is needed.

With local artist Manman Huang.

THE HISTORY & MYSTERY OF TAROT

Divination using Tarot cards dates back to the mid-15th century. Erol Delos Santos will explain the history of Tarot, what the cards mean, and what messages they convey. He will demonstrate the power of the cards, with some readings.

BAKING WITH MAPSO SWEET

Monday, August 7 6:30 pm at HIlton Branch

What do lemon curd and chocolate ganache have in common? They both make delicious fillings for a quick and easy summer dessert. Learn how to make them and then fill mini tart shells topped off with fresh fruit. Once you have mastered these two, the possibilities are endless!

ENGLISH CONVERSATION CLASSES

July and August at Hilton Branch Library

Practice your English language skills in a small group of other English language learners. These classes are for students who have a basic command of English and want to increase their vocabulary and improve their expressive skills. Registration and placement appointment required. REGISTER HERE.

This year we will be rewarding the top four teen participants based on time spent reading, writing, and attending programs.

Wednesdays, July 12 & 26, August 2

6:00 pm at Hilton Branch

Open to all skill levels. Use one of our chess sets or bring your own. Registration is encouraged, but not required. Be sure to register for the day(s) you want to attend.

Kids and families are invited to enjoy immersive bubble fun. Bring a towel & wear a bathing suit. Or just bring a beach chair to watch the fun.
