NESS Summer Program Registration Opens on February 1

Stonington, CT New England Science & Sailing Foundation (NESS) will open registration for its 2023 summer programs on Wednesday, February 1, 2023. 

NESS, a New England Association of Schools & Colleges (NEASC) accredited school partner program and award-winning ocean adventure STEM education nonprofit, provides students of all ages with programming that offers a unique combination of on-the-water and in-the-classroom lessons intended to spark curiosity, enhance learning, and encourage students to step out of their comfort zones. 

Summer programs at NESS’s Stonington Borough location include classes for students ages 4-17 in sailing, marine science, fishing, surfing, stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, snorkeling, and powerboating. Summer programs run Monday through Friday for ten weeks (June 19 - August 25). Half-day programs, full-day programs, and lunch coverage will be available. 

NESS summer programs also include private sailing lessons, Discover Sail cruises, and other opportunities for all ages and abilities. As a US Sailing recognized Community Sailing Center, NESS provides the highest quality instruction and facilities with adaptive teaching methods and specialized equipment for all skill levels.

New England Science & Sailing uses sailing, marine science, powerboating, and ocean adventure sports as experiential learning platforms to increase K-12 academic outcomes. NESS educators teach in classrooms and on the water, using over 100 proprietary lesson plans tied to school standards; including the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), Ocean Literacy Principles (OLP), and CASEL (Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning) standards.
