COLDWATER, MI – Star of the film Jesus Christ Superstar Ted Neeley will make a guest appearance for a special screening of Norman Jewison's groundbreaking rock opera film at Tibbits Opera House.

Celebrating the film’s 50th anniversary release, the film's star Neeley will introduce a newly remastered print of the film. The screening, part of Tibbits Film Series, will also serve as a special tribute to the life of the director Norman Jewison (1926-2024). This is Neeley’s ONLY Michigan and Midwest EXCLUSIVE Appearance.

Adapted from Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's Broadway rock opera, Jesus Christ Superstar recounts the last days of Jesus Christ (Neeley) from the perspective of Judas Iscariot (Carl Anderson), his betrayer. As Jesus' following increases, Judas begins to worry that Jesus is falling for his own hype, forgetting the principles of his teachings and growing too close to the prostitute Mary Magdalene (Yvonne Elliman). After Jesus has an outburst in a temple, Judas turns on him. The film was nominated for multiple Academy and Golden Globe Awards.

At a pre-show VIP reception Neeley will share stories to a limited number of ticket holders. Those VIP tickets are available at https://tedneeley.com/ and range from $175-$250.

Film begins at 7 pm, but a bonus showing of the documentary "SUPERSTARS" on the making of the film will begin at 6 pm. After the film screen, Neeley will meet and greet attendees. Exclusive souvenirs, memorabilia, photos with Ted and autographs will be available for purchase.

Admission for the screening is $23 for nonmembers, $20 for Tibbits members, and $25 for the day of the showing. They are available at Tibbits.org, by calling 517-278-6029, or by stopping at Tibbits administration office at 93 West Chicago St, Coldwater, Michigan.
