Just over the river in Lorton, Virginia is the Workhouse Arts Center, a one-of-a-kind visual arts, performing arts, history, and education center.

Explore Mamie Davis Park and River Mill Park within the historic district of Occoquan or get out on the river and kayak or stand up paddleboard! The entire Town of Occoquan is also designated as a bird sanctuary.

About 15 minutes from Occoquan is Neabsco Creek Boardwalk. This site allows hikers access to wetlands that provide a rich habitat for winged wildlife. Occoquan Bay National Wildlife Refuge is just 10 minutes from town and boosts 642 acres with 4 miles of trails as well.

While in town, don't miss the Mill House Museum next to River Mill Park. You can also walk the Occoquan Historical Marker Trail through town.
