Staff Beliefs About Student Learning

The following statements were developed as guiding principles for focusing our instruction at AGS. All instruction, activities, and events strive to meet the intent of these beliefs.

1. Children learn in a home and school environment that is safe and supportive.

2. Children learn in different ways and at individual paces.

3. Children learn by doing.

4. Children learn through modeling and imitation.

5. Children learn when the experience is relevant, integrated, and challenging.

6. Children focus on their learning in an atmosphere with clear expectations and goals.

7. Children need to develop ownership and responsibility for their learning.
