Civil Air Patrol, Westchester Cadet Squadron

AL Post 979
718-684-8744

Civil Air Patrol (CAP) is the official Auxiliary of the United States Air Force. As part of the Total Force, we assist the USAF with non-combat missions including Aerospace Education (Cyper Security, STEM, Model Rocketry, Flying), Cadet Programs (Leadership training, Military History and Customs, Ceremonies, Parade, Physical Fitness) and General Emergency Services (Aerial and Ground Team Search and Rescue, disaster relief and training, Homeland Security, DEA Enforcement and border patrol).

Our squadron is a cadet squadron focused on mentoring teens aged 12-under 18. Many cadets join for the community service opportunities, working with local veterans, aspiring to join any of the Military Academies, have in interest in flying or even teambuilding. Many cadets remain until 21 or become senior (adult) members who mentor the future generation. Our squadron meets every Friday from 7pm to 9:30 at a local American Legion Post in Scarsdale. Adults are also welcome join as mentor members, especially with a prior service background (not equired).

If you are interested in learning to fly, applying for the military academies, or community service, contact us and stop by! For more information, visit our website or the main CAP webpage at www.gocivilairpatrol.com
