About

We, the members of Elias Evangelical Lutheran Church of Emmitsburg, Maryland, believe in the Holy Trinity and all that is written in The Holy Bible, the three ecumenical creeds, and the six Lutheran Confessions. As people of God, called by the Holy Spirit, our individual and congregational actions are guided by the authority of Holy Scripture. We are committed to praising and thanking God through worship services and to growing in faith, love, and obedience to the will of God. We welcome the opportunity and will finance our responsibility to witness to God's love for us. To this end, we are challenged to share and spread the word of God; establish ecumenical partnerships; respond meaningfully to the brokenness of today's society; preserve God's creation; work for peace and justice; and give our fair share to the benevolence of the church at large.
