Meals on Wheels:

The FCEC meal programs are intended to maintain both the nutritional and social needs of our community's older citizens by providing balanced, hot meals at affordable prices. The menus are carefully monitored by a registered dietician through the Area Agency on Aging (AAA) to ensure compliance with vitamin and mineral requirements.

Meals on Wheels are home-delivered meals which meet the same nutritional health requirements as do our congregate meals. The key difference is that our Meals on Wheels Program delivers hot meals five days a week directly to the home of the person in need. The program is ideal for both short and long-term situations; both the permanently homebound and those recovering from illness or surgery are eligible for this service.

Frozen meals are delivered for weekends and holidays, and breakfast foods are also available. In addition to making sure that our area's seniors have hot, fresh meals, our Meals on Wheels Program also provides homebound individuals with a daily wellness check. Seniors can count on a friendly face appearing at their doorstep at an appointed time Monday through Friday.  Home-delivered meals are available on a contribution basis; suggested donation is $2.50 per meal. No one will be denied service due to an inability to contribute.
