The District's magnet academies of accelerated learning, or Select Schools, offer unique educational choices to the students of Greenville County by providing a strong core curriculum enhanced with extensive course work in a specialized area of study.

We also offer the full range of International Baccalaureate curriculum: Primary Years, Middle Years, and Diploma. While each program has its own unique characteristics and requirements, they share a common vision. Through comprehensive and balanced curricula coupled with challenging assessments, International Baccalaureate aims to develop the individual talents of young people and teach them to relate the experience of the classroom to the realities of the world outside.

Several schools in Greenville County offer Extended Day After School Program opportunities for children needing supervision while their parents are at work. The after school time is very structured with a snack, academic assistance, homework and recreational activities planned. Additional activities vary from one program to another depending on the uniqueness of the school facility. The extended day programs offer a service to the school community and provide enriching, structured care for children.

Greenville County has earned national recognition for its early childhood education. The high quality 4K and 5K programs contributed to the fact that 88% of this year's first graders tested "ready" for school. In addition, the network of Child Development and Family Learning Centers have been successfully providing 4 year old kindergarten, Family Learning/GED programs, Parents as Teachers (PAT), English as a Second Language (ESL) and a wealth of services for families in their communities.
