History:

Griffin Tales:

A community writing and oral history project, recording tales of caring and courage experienced at Griffin Hospital. All were invited to write and submit their Griffin tales, and, with the writers' permission, works were posted on our website or in our communications materials. Read some of the tales that have been shared with us.

StoryCorps:

The oral history component of Griffin Tales, was conducted in partnership with National Public Radio. Its mission is to honor and celebrate one another's lives through listening. Since 2003, almost 30,000 people have shared life stories with family and friends in a StoryBooth, which was on site at the Center for Cancer Care at Griffin Hospital on May 27 and 28, 2009. Each 40-minute conversation was recorded on a free CD for the participants to share and is preserved at the Library of Congress. StoryCorps is the largest oral history project of its kind, preserving special memories for generations to come.
