Jersey City Reservoir Preservation Alliance

P.O. Box 7833
(201) 448-7838

Since its founding in 2005, the Jersey City Reservoir Preservation Alliance, Inc. has been dedicated to preserving both the Reservoir's historically significant structures and its natural wetlands, and is working jointly with the site's owner, the City of Jersey City, to transform it into a public urban park for passive recreation.

A 501(c)(3) non-profit coalition of businesses and community, environmental, and historic preservation groups, the Reservoir Alliance's goals are to:

  •      Preserve Reservoir #3 as a public historic and nature park, botanical sanctuary and wildlife habitat;

  •       Protect the lake, woods, meadows, and the entire Reservoir site from new building construction, or any use inconsistent with a passive recreation park;

  •         Develop appropriate re-use of existing structures and passive non-commercial recreation;

  •          Establish and promote educational and recreational events and programs;

  •            Educate the public;

  •    Secure public and private support for developing and maintaining the Reservoir; and
  •          Act as a conservancy to monitor, protect, and enhance the site.
