Kiwanis Club Of Macomb

1200 E Grant St.

History:
Fifty members were present for the first meeting of the Macomb Kiwanis Club at the old Pace Hotel in downtown Macomb on February 23, 1922.

The program featured Rev. Allen of Galesburg, pastor of the Universalist Church, who was also a Kiwanian. He praised the objects and purposes of the organization and noted the good that has been done by other clubs.

Later, our club held its meetings at the Lamoine Hotel after it was built in downtown Macomb in 1927. The club continued to meet there until 1970 when the weekly meetings were moved to the Holiday Inn, now known as the Days Inn, on Route 67 North. The club currently meets at St. George's Episcopal Church in downtown Macomb.
