Long Lake Lutheran Church

West 3114 Church Road
715-354-3804

Long Lake Lutheran Church, affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, is located in a beautiful rural setting. The congregation was founded in 1897 and was made up of folks with mostly Norwegian backgrounds. Since that time, through good times and bad, the membership has grown and the church building itself has undergone several enlargements and remodelings. The present congregation includes 335 baptized and 256 confirmed members.

For over 57 years Long Lake and Trinity Lutheran Church in Birchwood were united in one parish, sharing pastors, secretary and music director. In the year 2002 Long Lake became its "own" parish, with its own full-time pastor, and secretary. A recent building project enlarged the sanctuary, added a "gathering" room, provided more Sunday School and meeting rooms on the lower level and provided space for offices. Most of the construction work was done by volunteers, members of the congregation who are extremely versatile in all phases of building. The pastor's and secretary's offices were completed in the summer of 2002.

Long Lake Lutheran Church is a vibrant, growing church. Sunday morning worship service begins at 9:00 a.m., with Sunday School 9:00 also. This schedule will continue until summer hours begin. This year, 2006, the summer schedule begins on May 7th. Two services will be held, one at 8:00 am and one at 10:00 am, both inside the church. Beginning May 28th, the 8:00 am services will be held in our lovely outdoor chapel, weather permitting. A coffee hour will be held between the two services, either outside or indoors, again depending on the weather.

Special music during worship is provided by the Senior Choir, the Praise Team, the Tone Chimes Choir and Sunday School students. During the summer local and area musicians are encouraged to share their talents by singing and/or playing musical instruments.

Everyone is welcome at Long Lake Lutheran Church.
