Mount Holly Township is the seat of Burlington County, with a population of 10,728 (census 2000). The community is rich in history with several sites on the National Register of Historic Places. Our stable infrastructure, modern business and medical resources, and proximity to the New Jersey Turnpike and major interstate highways puts the Township in the center of what is happening in South Jersey.

The Township operates under the Council-Manager form of government having five members of Township Council elected on two-year staggered terms. The Mayor is selected from within Council on an annual basis.
In addition, the Township receives the benefits of being designated as an Urban Enterprise Zone. Major employers in the Township include Burlington County, Virtua Memorial Hospital, and Strober-Haddonfield Lumber. The Township's economic conditions continue to improve at a measurable rate.
