About Us:

Northeast Wisconsin Land Trust is a non-profit, member-supported, land conservation organization dedicated to permanently protecting our special natural places that contribute to and sustain our quality of life. We are not a government agency or a political advocacy group. We work one-on-one with landowners who wish to preserve their land to create individualized conservation agreements that will leave a lasting legacy for their family and future generations.

Since 1996, when our organization was founded, Northeast Wisconsin Land Trust has worked to preserve land for our future.

We preserve land three ways:

-Preserve private land through conservation agreements (owners keep their land and limit future development; owners decide what restrictions are placed on their land)

-Purchase land and open it to the public for light recreational use (using funding from private or government grants)

-Accept donations of land (usually open to the public, but does not have to be)

*All land is preserved forever. Conservation agreements stay with the deed.
