Prairie Heritage Farm

PO Box 914
406-396-1261

Prairie Heritage Farm is a diversified organic farm in central Montana, where the mountains meet the prairie. The Farm is run and managed by the husband-and-wife team of Jacob and Courtney Cowgill, two native Montanans returning to their central Montana roots. We're located near the small town of Conrad. Conrad sits on the short grass prairie, where the Rocky Mountains meet the plains. Our farm seeks to honor the heritage of the native prairie, Montana's agriculture, and our farm's diverse animal breeds and plant varieties. When settlers came to the prairies, they started small-scale diversified family farms. At Prairie Heritage Farm, we are doing the same in the 21st century.

With a focus on heirloom varieties, we grow vegetables for a CSA and the Great Falls Farmers Market, raise heritage breeds of turkeys, and grow lentils and ancient and heritage varieties of grains.

We have 3 CSAs: a Vegetable, a Thanksgiving, and a Grain and Seed CSA. For the vegetable CSA, shareholders receive a weekly box of produce for 16-18 weeks.

The Thanksgiving CSA consists of a heritage turkey, winter squash, onions, and potatoes. It can be picked up a few days before Thanksgiving at an agreed-upon location.

The Grain and Seed CSA consists of a variety of grains and legumes to be delivered in the winter (details to be worked out depending on shareholder location).
