The Yellin School is celebrating its 50th birthday this year! As with other festive occasions, we will celebrate past achievements while setting new goals and objectives for the future. Our teachers will continue to refine the programs and instructional strategies that have been recently implemented in language arts literacy, math, science, and social studies. New goals for the year include updating our social studies curriculum, focusing on assessment in all subject areas and fully implementing Connected Math in grade 7 (partial implementation in grade 8).

Our character education program has evolved over the past several years and now all initiatives will come under the umbrella of Respect, Responsibility, and Making Right Choices. Students, staff and parents will hopefully utilize the three R’s when discussing academic responsibilities, increasing tolerance, or using proper behavior during all school or home functions. In fact, all of our actions, from following the school dress code to working on service projects for the school or community, can be connected to the three R’s.
