Seat Pleasant Volunteer Fire Company

6305 Addison Road
301-336-2331

The Seat Pleasant Volunteer Fire Company is made up of a small group of dedicated volunteers that staff one of the busiest stations in Prince George's County, Maryland, a bordering suburb of Washington DC.

The SPVFC operates two Class A pumpers, a Heavy Rescue Squad and a Basic Life Support Ambulance that protect a first due area of about 5.5 Square Miles with a population of around 35,000 people. Taking into account all of the areas that the SPVFC responds into on a regular basis, our overall Fire Protection Respose area is about 38 Square Miles with a population of around 250,000.

Our First Due consists of densely populated urban/residential areas with Interstate Highways, and other major state throughway crossings. We have highrises, hotels, nursing homes and other high risk occupancy dwellings that we also respond to, outside of our first due.

The SPVFC prides itself on its aggressive interior attack firefighting techniques, a way of firefighting that is dying out in the American Fire Service of the 21st Century. We get the job done right, the way it should be, the first time we do it.

SPVFC averages around 6,000 calls for service and 150 working fires a year with our one station, making it one of the top 5 busiest stations in the county and one of the busiest fire stations in the United States for a combination fire department.
