Southside Church

History

In 2004, a group of people living on the southside of Atlanta had a passion to start a church where they could bring their unchurched friends – a church similar to North Point Community Church (NPCC) in Alpharetta and one of its campuses, Buckhead Church. They were willing to drive to Alpharetta or Buckhead to attend, but knew their unchurched friends and neighbors that lived on the southside probably would not. This dedicated, small group of people began meeting every other Sunday night.

The leadership team of NPCC encouraged and advised this group, and in the fall of 2004 asked them to become a Strategic Partner Church plant of North Point Ministries. At that time they hired Chris Patton as the Lead Pastor. This small group became Southside Church. They continued meeting in small groups until September 18th, 2005 when the first official worship service was launched with over 500 people attending. Since that time, God has grown Southside Church where over 4,000 people currently attend on a regular basis at two different campus locations, one in Peachtree City and one in Newnan.

Our hope and prayer is to see thousands of Coweta and Fayette County children, students and adults in a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
