Mission Statement
“We love because He first loved us."
So reads the statement on our sign board. Part of love is taking care of each other, but a larger part is taking care of the stranger and those who are our neighbors. We believe that God sends us those who might be strangers but will soon be neighbors and then, in time, they may choose to be a part of us. Part of our journey together is to rehear the story of how He first loved us and part is our contribution to our individual and collective journeys to God. Each of us is unique; our journeys and our progress are unique to each of us. What we hold in common is the desire to help each other on the journey and together experience the Holy One. “We love because He first loved us.” We are parts of the Body of Christ and individually members thereof. Each of us is important to the life we share as St. John’s Church in Cornwall. Together we discover how and where God is calling us to express God’s love in the world.
